The Bridge Builders Community Church was founded by Pastors Daren and Carolyn Waters. The vision for seeing a Multicultural Ministry formed in Valdosta, Georgia began to manifest in 2005 with six people (Daren and Carolyn Waters, Sr.; Barbara Moore; Eugene and Dorothy Bell, Jr.; and Bobbie Franklin). Our motto became, Let’s Build A Bridge”. After much prayer and fasting, Daren began casting the vision with this group to ascertain interest in a unique ministry. All agreed that this was a move of God. With this group, the vision began to be realized through Bridge Builders Community Fellowship which existed as a vehicle to continue exploring area interest in this new ministry.
The compelling reason for starting Bridge Builders Community Church was to obey the call of God and build a multicultural ministry that embodies the love of God for all people. This focus would address the need for unity in the body of Christ regardless of one’s status. Martin Luther King, Jr. conveyed that the most segregated hour of the week is Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM. Over 90% of church goers attend churches of their own ethnicity. Bridge Builders Community Church endeavors to intentionally celebrate and utilize God’s greatest gift to the world, a diverse humanity. Thus, our Church exists to build bridges in broken relationships, families, communities and the world at large. Bridge Builders Community Church officially launched on January 8, 2006 at 11:00 AM to join in sharing Gods love for all people.
